As we approach Christmas, we must prepare our hearts anew for the true gift of Jesus and His merciful heart.
Are we truly ready to meet Our Lord Jesus Christ? For John went throughout the whole region of Jordan, proclaiming a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins, as it is written in the book of the words of the prophet Isaiah: A voice of one crying in the desert: Prepare the way of the Lord, make straight His paths. Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be made low. The winding roads shall be made straight, and the rough ways make smooth, and all flesh shall see the salvation of God.
John was in the wilderness that is filled with dust.
John was in the wilderness that the air was so dry.
Where there is no drinking water.
Where he survived with locust and honey.
Where there is no shelter, and no clothing.
John the Baptist was someone who realized his need for God and relied on Him. The challenge most mankind has is we are self-reliant and do not realize we need to be saved, but John the Baptist helped people realize their sinfulness and that they could not save themselves.
Please prepare your heart and welcome Jesus, do not allow Him to stand by door, let Him dine with you.
Jesus who is the image of God, He came from God, if you have seen Jesus, You have seen God. He is so beautiful, and His smile so captivating. What a Wonder.
Amen!
