Jesus saw a man who was blind from birth, and His disciples asked Him, saying, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him. I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; night is coming when no one can work. As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” (John 9:1-12)
When He had said these things, He spat on the ground and made clay with the saliva; and He anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay. And He said to him, “go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (which is translated, Sent). So, he went and washed, and came back seeing. Therefore, the neighbors and those who previously had seen that he was blind said, “Is not this he who sat and begged?” Some said, “This is he.” Others said, “He is like him.” He said, “I am he.” Therefore, they said to him, “How were your eyes opened?”
He answered and said, “A Man called Jesus made clay and anointed my eyes and said to me, ‘Go to the pool of Siloam and wash.’ So, I went and washed, and I received sight.” Then they said to him, “Where is He?” He said, “I do not know.”
Sightless is inability to see. In the Scriptures, it refers to spiritual blindness, or unwillingness to understand and embrace the truth of GOD. Jesus fulfilled this in both ways, restoring physical and spiritual sight. (Matthew 11:5 tells us that “The blind sees and the lame walk; the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear; the dead are raised up and the poor have the gospel preached to them.”
PRAYER: LORD please restore my spiritual sight so I can see the Light, the truth that is before me and ahead of me. Give me the grace to look beyond what I am going through and help me to look onto You my healer and deliverer OH LORD I pray.
Brothers and sister, please do not reject Jesus just like the Jews who focused on the fleshly nature, the sinful nature of man, who saw the Man Jesus and not His Divine nature, The Deliverer, Redeemer, Champion, Savior and Rock.
Why did Jesus spit on the ground, and made mud, placed it on the blind man’s eyes and said go and wash at the pool of Siloam? As human beings, we might ask, why mud? Remember that the Book of Genesis declares GOD created Adam from dust. He created flesh from mud. Brothers and sisters, please do not focus on the flesh, what you are going through, your pain, your sorrows, disappointments, failures, and temptations, but focus on Jesus Christ so as not to live a life of spiritual blindness.
Our Savior is very compassionate, Loving and caring. He is also bigger than our sicknesses, temptations, depressions and worries of life.
The Greek word for Siloam means “Sent One”. Is Our LORD Jesus the Sent One? when we see The Sent One, we should look beyond the human flesh and into the healing and deliverance nature of GOD. Remember that through Jesus, the Sent One, we have been Redeemed. He has rescued us, bought us back from Satan’s territory into His marvelous Light. Hallelujah!!
Please read a testimony of what a sister went through.
I do know a sister whom her husband cheated on for several years. She was treated very poorly, abused verbally, so she became emotionally tormented. Her husband told her how he hated her and even promised marriage to his lady friend. But in these situations, The LORD was and is still with this sister. GOD told her, “The LORD of Host is with you, and The GOD of Jacob is your Refuge.” Psalm 46:7). What a Loving Father.
This is just a summary of what the sister went through.
Can I ask you a question? What are you going through? Whatever your situation, please surrender all to the LORD. He will turn it around for you and will use it for His Glory because it is all about Him. The key is to trust in Him. Pray and seek Him, pour out your heart before The LORD, Psalm 62:8) He loves it, He will listen.
Praise The LORD!!
