The Good Shepherd and His Sheep.
The Book of John 10:1-18 declares that “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. Yet they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.” Jesus used this illustration, but they did not understand the things which He spoke to them.
Jesus is the Good Shepherd
Then Jesus said to them again, “Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the Door of the sheep. All who ever came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. I am the Door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
“I am the Good Shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep. But a hireling, he who is not the shepherd, one who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees; and the wolf catches the sheep and scatters them. The hireling flees because he is a hireling and does not care about the sheep. I am the Good Shepherd; and I know My sheep and am known by My own. As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep.
And other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock and one shepherd. My Father loves Me because I lay down My life that I may take it again. No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command I have received from My Father.”
Our LORD Jesus is speaking of sheepfold which is also called a pen as an example. In Israel/Judea walls are built of stone, a walled or fenced area where sheep could be gathered together at night. There was a gap between the stones at two ends, so that the shepherd and the sheep can go in and out through the gap.
In this case, Jesus is the Door of the sheep, and we are the sheep, and by Him we can go in and out and find pasture, John 10:9) (Be fed spiritually, receive healing, deliverance, peace, protection, Joy, and gladness and so on) Psalm 100:3 tells us that “We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.” The thieves, or the robbers cannot get into the sheepfold because Jesus is the High wall of separation that has surrounded us to protect from the thieves and the robbers, which is Satan and his agents, (the demons) but as children of God, Jesus Christ is not only our Good Shepherd, but also the Door of the sheepfold protecting us from the thieves because we are His sheep.
There are some bad shepherds today that are leading their sheep astray, the Bishops, Pastors and the so-called prophets who claim to hear from God. Do they truly love us or just want to steal from us? Brothers and sisters, Jesus is the only way to the Father and the Door is still open.
A good shepherd guards his sheep and Jesus is The Good Shepherd, Jesus knows and understands the full role of a shepherd, Jesus is the Good Shepherd; the good Shepherd gives His life for the sheep. John 10:11) lays His life down for the sheep.
Our Good Shepherd really cares for us, and we can only go to heaven through Him, to be saved through Him because there is no other way. He laid down His life for us-carried the cross, He suffered hunger and thirst because He cares, His love for us is so great, and mercy so rich, everything that we need He has it. He is the only way to eternal life/everlasting life. (John 3:16) and not the idols.
Jesus longs for us to have a close relationship with Him because He is our First True Love. No one can truly love us the way Jesus loves us. Please focus on Him, and let your thoughts align with His thoughts, then the evil ones cannot play with your mind.
Jesus provides for us, teaches and mentors us, a constant companion, someone to talk to, Who fights our battles and destroys our enemies. He heals and delivers us, a very compassionate Savior, devoted to His children. He also has the Spirit of One who cares and has greatly turned the works of evil around, and much more.
He is the only way.
In Closing: I will like to share a Testimony:
Few years back, while living in California, I had a dream were our Lord Jesus Christ walked with me towards a high wall, and as He walked through the wall, I could not, so He came back to me and demonstrated how I can walk through the wall, then as I walked in, I saw lots of demons.
Revelation: What does these mean?
Jesus is the High Wall that separates us-that surrounds us from Satan and all his agent, (evil spirits, demons) and He is also the Door that prevents the thieves from getting to us.
The High Wall is also fortified with Holy Ghost consuming fire.
Please pray and claim it.
“For I says the Lord, will be a wall of fire all around her and I will be the Glory in her midst.” (Zechariah 2:5).
Psalm 46:7,11 says “The Lord is with us;
The God of Jacob is our Refuge.
Amen!
